“While visiting relatives in rural Ireland I saw lots of roadside shrines to the Virgin Mary. Soon after me and a friend went to see all three Indiana Jones films back to back at the cinema, all the different religious and mystical shrines inspired me. Then, working on a shoot, we installed a curved niche into a set, after the shoot they threw it away. As usual I went scavenging in the scrap pile and had the begining of my own shrine! The idea for a living latex vacuum shrine was born!”
